Good Samaritan Hospice is seeking a qualified Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our team.

The CNE will work collaboratively with individuals and groups, acting as a resource and utilizing creative teaching methods to meet the educational needs of the organization.

The role includes developing, evaluating, and timely updating of clinical educational programs and plans to include:

• Orientation
• Preceptorships
• Coaching/mentoring individual clinical staff
• Skills & Competency checks
• Certification review courses
• Care planning, LCD training and documentation, and all other identified educational needs.
• Electronic medical record
• The CNE will work with the leadership team on performance improvement projects as well as policy review and development.

This candidate must be a Registered Nurse with at least:

• 3 years of experience in healthcare education is recommended.
• Hospice experience preferred

As a Community Liaison, you will be responsible for assisting in referral development by cultivating, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with referral sources and educating the community on the hospice concept of care. You will also coordinate and participate in health fairs, senior expos, and other events, as well as develop and maintain relationships with community organizations.

If you have a thorough understanding of sales, marketing, and public relations, as well as having a passion for making a positive impact on the wellbeing of the greater community, this opportunity is for you! Hospice experience is preferred.

We are currently seeking a weekend RN for our service area.

As an RN, you will coordinate, guide and direct the care of patients facing life limiting illness. You will educate the patient and patient's family in the care of the patient, work with an interdisciplinary team, and make visits to the patients home as necessary. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about clinical excellence and who feel a professional calling to caring for patients with serious and complex illness at end of life.

The schedule will be Friday- Sunday 8:30AM- 8:30 PM

We are currently seeking a RN - Night shift for Sheila S. Strauss Hospice Inpatient Unit .

The Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for assessing and evaluating the patient's physical, psychological, and mental needs and providing nursing services aimed at improving the quality of life for both the patient and their family.

Qualifications:

● Graduate from an accredited educational institution

● Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in acute care, emergency department, home health, hospice, med/surg, PCU, or geriatric nursing.

● Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

● Current BLS certification.

● Additional Skills – excellent communication, decision-making and critical thinking skills, excellent computer skills (EMR), complies with accepted professional standards of practice, and a working knowledge and commitment to hospice philosophy.

● Current driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance coverage, driving record and reliable transportation that meets the standards set forth in Good Samaritan’s policy.

The schedule will be 7 AM-7 PM, rotating weekends and alternating Holidays.

Are you a social worker curious about hospice work and wanting to simultaneously make extra income while making a real difference? Good Samaritan Hospice is looking for an On Call Counselor/Social Worker to join our after-hours team with a goal of supporting our hospice patients and families on evenings/nights and weekends. Our ideal candidate will possess kindness, empathy, a passion for team work, and the ability to provide counseling support to individuals receiving hospice care.

Master’s Degree in Social Work required. Minimum requirements also include computer experience and at least 2 years of social work/counseling experience in a healthcare setting.
