Sheila S. STRAUSS HOSPICE HOUSE
Sometimes patients need a level of care that cannot be provided at home. Consider the following situations:
- Your loved one is experiencing a pain or symptom crisis that requires continuous 24-hour supervision for frequent medication adjustments
- A family member has frequent infections and is at risk for enduring repeated emergency department visits
- You need time away from caregiving responsibilities to rest, undergo a medical procedure or travel to a graduation or a wedding
It is these short-stay situations for which the Strauss Hospice House was designed. This warm and inviting facility will be a place where patients receive 24/7 care in a homelike environment.
The Strauss Hospice House will include 16 private patient rooms with space for family members to stay overnight as needed, family meeting rooms, a chapel and gardens. The house will also serve as a permanent home for our home hospice teams, include a community bereavement center, and accommodate administrative offices.
Often described as a hospice hospital, the Strauss Hospice House will provide patients and their families with the highest level of hospice services, including the medical, spiritual and emotional support they need during end-of-life care.
