Good Sam Named a 2026 Hospice Honors Elite Recipient
Good Sam has been named a 2026 Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite recipient by MatrixCare, earning national recognition for the care and support we provide to patients and families throughout our community.
The Hospice CAHPS Honors program recognizes hospice organizations that demonstrate exceptional performance through the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey. The survey gives families and caregivers an opportunity to share their experiences with hospice care, including communication, responsiveness, symptom management and the support they received.
Administered as part of the national hospice quality reporting process, the CAHPS Hospice Survey provides important insight into the experiences of family members and caregivers following the death of a loved one receiving hospice care.
Hospice Honors Elite is the program’s highest distinction. To earn Elite status, a hospice must exceed the national performance benchmark across all 22 measures evaluated for the award.
For Good Sam, that makes this recognition especially meaningful. It reflects the voices of the families who have trusted us to care for someone they love during one of life’s most important chapters.
A Reflection of Our Mission
Exceptional hospice care is never the work of one person. It takes an entire interdisciplinary team working together to care for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients while also supporting their families.
From our nurses, aides, physicians and nurse practitioners to our social workers, chaplains, counselors, volunteers, administrative staff and everyone working behind the scenes, each member of Good Sam plays a role in creating the experience families have with our care.
As a community-based nonprofit hospice, our focus remains where it has always been: on the people and communities we serve. This recognition reinforces our commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care centered on each patient’s comfort, dignity, choices and quality of life.
That commitment also extends beyond a patient’s care through services such as grief and bereavement support for families and members of our community.
